Insurer appoints Google's European president as non-executive director
Aviva has appointed Nikesh Arora as a non-executive director with effect from 1 July.
Arora is currently president - Europe, Middle East and Africa operations at Google with responsibility for the company's business in over 25 countries.
Before joining Google in 2004, he worked for T-Mobile, Deutsche Telekom, Fidelity Investments in Boston and Putnam Investments.
Lord Sharman of Redlynch, Aviva's chairman, commented: "I'm delighted that Nikesh is joining us.
"He brings great experience in managing international businesses which, combined with his expertise and insight in technology, innovation and marketing, will make him a real asset to the Aviva board."
