Aviva is to sell its 23-strong Irish branch network, a move which will see 59 employees transfer to One Direct. One Direct will also take over Aviva premises in Dublin.

The One Direct deal means the sale of the personal lines book is over, and in the coming days, Aviva will reveal who has won the commercial book.

Aviva Ireland chief executive Seán Egan said: “We were determined to identify a company who could take on our branch network business in a way that minimised job losses while maintaining quality customer services.

“Aviva has a long-standing successful relationship with One Direct, I am delighted that we have reached agreement to renew our existing contract and to further expand and grow our businesses together with today’s announcement.”
