Aviva has ended its preferred insurer status with Broker Network.

The insurer has told brokers about the move and will be releasing more information in the next few days.

In an email, seen by Insurance Times, Aviva stresses that is completely “committed” to working with current Broker Network brokers.

Aviva trades with Broker Network brokers outside of the network partnership.

However, it is understood that Aviva believes it does not make enough money from the partnership to warrant continuing the deal.

Aviva UK general insurance chief executive David McMillan has recorded two years of underwriting profits, with combined operating ratios of 97%.

A Broker Network spokesman declined to comment.
