Cuts planned in the New Year for division controlled by John Kitson

Aviva is to cut 100 jobs in its sales and marketing division, which is led by the departing John Kitson.

The insurer told staff about the plans this morning and the redundancies are to take place in the New Year.

An Aviva spokeswoman said the reason behind the cuts was ‘to focus on key sectors that develop broker partnerships.'

“It is difficult market so it’s about maintaining focus at the moment.”

Aviva employs 2,300 staff overall in sales and marketing roles.
