Unlike some parts of the industry which virtually shut down for the summer, the rumour mills at Lloyd's are busier than ever.

Their latest shocker is that three businesses have had their underwriting licenses withdrawn - banning them from doing business in the market.

But how is it that many people in the market appear less than shaken by this extraordinary news?

It would appear that some are becoming sceptical of such tales of doom and even suggest they are being put about by the market's controllers in order to keep unruly underwriters in line.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
