Reinsurance intermediary Benfield Group plc has appointed Derek Walsh as its Group Legal Counsel, it announced today.
He will have responsibility for legal matters concerning the group's operations worldwide, including overseeing both the UK and US legal teams.
Walsh is joining from law firm Pinsent Curtis Biddle, where he was an external counsel to the Benfield group.
Benfield Group chief executive Grahame Chilton said: "From our previous experience of Derek as an adviser we knew he was a good lawyer. But what we really like about Derek is that he knows our industry, our business and, most importantly, delivers practical solutions."
