Non-fault motor claims to be handled through broker’s legal services arm

Towergate has awarded a contract to handle non-fault motor claims to BGL Group.

The agreement will see BGL centralise customer claims handling on Towergate’s behalf for 200,000 policyholders, including making sure policyholders have a good and consistent experience from the time they report an incident and as the claim progresses.

BGL won the contract through its legal services arm, which comprises claims management company ACM and Minster Law.

It already deals with Towergate as an insurer on several of its panels.

Towergate specialises in niche motor insurance including iKube, a telematics-based policy for young drivers, classic cars and motorbikes.

“Our focus is to provide the best possible service to our customers and with BGL’s extensive supplier network and legal expertise, we are confident that they will be well looked after,” said Towergate retail finance director John Kennedy.

BGL group legal services director David Downie said: “We are delighted to kick-start 2014 with a new agreement with Towergate. Insurers and brokers today are increasingly seeking to offer exceptional end-to-end claims services, at what can often be a difficult time for the customer.

“We will continue to work closely with Towergate to ensure the new model is a success across its 100-strong branch network.”

Last year BGL won contracts with the National Accident Helpline and A-Plan Insurance.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
