Broker Service Survey 2013 - Insurance Times

The 2014 Broker Service Survey (BSS) is now open for all brokers to participate in anonymously. The survey is a comprehensive report of how UK general insurers are viewed by their broker clients, and is essential reading for capacity providers.

Responses will be segmented by broker type, location, brokerage, individual job function and business line responsibility. Results will be analysed by our specialist research team.

This year we have made improvements to the survey to ensure the reports contain more insight and offer more value than ever before.

Brokers will be able to rank and rate more of their insurer partners than last year, with seven key performance indicators being analysed:

  • Ease of access to decision makers;
  • Underwriting expertise and flexibility;
  • Claims fairness of settlement;
  • Claims speed of settlement;
  • Policy documentation: Clarity of wording;
  • Policy documentation: Speed of delivery; and
  • Quality of cover.

Brokers will soon be receiving emails inviting them to participate, but anyone wishing to take part immediately should contact Alex Straw on: alexander.straw@insurancetimes.co.uk.

The Reports

The BSS is separated into personal lines and commercial lines reports to reflect the different requirements of these business lines. Responses are split into statistical analysis and unattributed verbatim comments, analysed in detail by our research team.

Each report is split into two levels:

Level one: details the rankings and results on the risers and fallers, their strengths and weaknesses, which services matter most to brokers, their relationship with capacity providers and unattributed verbatim comments.

Level two: covers everything in level one reports, plus fully segments the information to reveal which broker types are behind all the figures and 400+ anonymous verbatim comments.

The personal lines survey closes on September 5, and commercial lines on September 19. Pre-ordered surveys will be available on November 10.
