The kitchen in a dangerous place to be. According to Esure, over six million people have been involved in cooking mishaps as they try to emulate the tricky techniques used by celebrity chefs.
And the efforts of novice chefs, who its seems are all too eager to pick up blow torches to roast peppers and attempt fancy chopping techniques, are costing insurers dear – to the tune of £5bn in damage to homes in fact.
It’s enough to give insurers indigestion.
