Greg Carter joins service provider

Greg Carter

Insurance services firm Capita Commercial Insurance Services has hired former FSA and rating agency executive Greg Carter as director of client services.

Carter reports to Brent Escott, head of Capita’s general insurance division. He will be responsible for service provision to Capita’s commercial insurance client base, including managing agents, insurers and brokers in the Lloyd’s, London and UK markets.

Carter joins Capita from the FSA, where he was manager of wholesale insurance intermediaries. He was previously managing director of insurance at Fitch ratings. He had also worked at rival rating agencies Standard & Poor’s and AM Best – he led the opening of AM Best’s first European office.

“The addition of Greg to our senior management team gives our clients access to one of the most analytical and well-respected minds in our industry, with direct experience of how regulation and financial rating affects their businesses on a practical level,” Escott said in a statement.

Carter added: “Capita is an ambitious business with a senior team embedded in insurance and reinsurance and serious about growth and innovation. I look forward to working at the heart of the market and enhancing the services provided to our clients during this challenging time for our industry.”
