Ex-Homelet staff to drive MARAS expansion

Cullum Capital Ventures has announced the appointment of five key members of the Erinaceous Homelet sales team.

Dave Wilson, John Chandler, Mitch Thomson, Tony Preece and Rob Battersea, who left Erinaceous in October, have all taken new sales roles with MARAS, part of CCV. They are joined at CCV by Ian Sharpe, who was formerly head of trading at Erinaceous Letsure.

All six new signings report to Sales Director Wayne Tonge who also recently left Erinaceous. In a statement, Towergate said Tonge had been responsible for client business in excess of £35m GWP. In his new role, he will develop new business and handle client relationship management.

MARAS is a provider of tenant referencing services for letting agents, which CCV acquired in October 2007. The business also has its own portfolio of clients to whom it offers traditional insurance broking services.

Tonge said: “It’s great to be joined at CCV by a team who have extensive experience and knowledge of the letting business. The backing of a progressive and customer focused company like CCV will enable our team to build a strong client proposition which will be hard to match in the insurance market.”

CCV Chief Executive Tim Johnson added: “These appointments reinforce our commitment to this sector. Wayne and his team bring a great amount of experience and professionalism which will help significantly grow the letting side of our business.”
