Latest acquisition manages more than £7m in premium

Acquisition

Clear Insurance Management has bought chartered broker The Heartland Group, its seventh acquisition since being founded in 2001.

The deal will see all 20 of Heartland Group’s staff join Clear, with Brian Weetman remaining in charge of the Leamington Spa-based team.

Heartland Group is a member of the Willis Network and controls in excess of £7m of premium, focussing on manufacturing, professional and wholesale trades.

Clear Insurance Management chief executive Howard Lickens said: “The Heartland Group is a great addition to the Clear Group and will play an important part in developing our growth strategy.  We intend to invest in the business and to make further selective acquisitions as part of our business plans of reaching £84m in premiums by the end of October 2016.”

Weetman said: “As a successful growing brokerage with a great reputation we had a number of options for the future of the company but once we spoke to Clear it was immediately evident that the similarities in culture and business ethic were too good to ignore.

“We are delighted to help Clear create a strong footprint in the midlands and are excited at the prospect of the development opportunities ahead.”
