Composite Legal Expenses is launching a product that combines human resources expertise with commercial legal expenses insurance.

The product, aimed at SMEs, provides human resources advice and employment documentation, coupled with legal expenses cover.

Composite Legal Expenses said the integrated product had been created to protect businesses from the risk of voiding their legal expenses cover by taking unauthorised advice on employment issues.

John Mullin, the company's managing director, said: "Legal expenses is a necessity for all businesses these days, but no broker needs a client casting blame their way if cover is voided.

"By the client using our HR service there is no possibility of our 'prospect of success' being undermined as the legal expenses provider in the Work4ce online contract.

"We feel that this is the answer to the brokers' dilemma," he added.

Mullin said the product had been successfully piloted with SMEs over the last few months.

He added that Composite Legal Expenses would market the product to businesses on behalf of brokers, but gave a "cast-iron guarantee" that clients would not be poached or contacted without express permission.

"Brokers can supply us with a database of their customers.

"The broker will still get the commission," he said.
