The Cooper Gay Group has announced that James Summers has been appointed as chief executive officer of its Lloyd's broking arm, Cooper Gay & Co Ltd.

James joined Cooper Gay in 2002 as managing director Marine & Aviation and has been instrumental in the development of the division. Steve Barton, currently deputy managing director, Marine & Aviation Division, has been appointed managing director.

Toby Esser, CEO of Cooper Gay Group, said: “James brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the UK Board and will be instrumental in driving the business forward. Cooper Gay has set aggressive future growth and development targets and under James' leadership, I am positive that we will attain our strategic goals.”
