Loss adjuster looks to grow its valuation and surveying services.

Cunningham Lindsey has made two senior appointments naming Bill Haywood-Smith manager of UK valuation services and Andy Smith national recoveries manager.

Haywood-Smith, who has been with loss adjuster for over 12 years, takes over from Sean Durden, who continues to work with the business as a consultant. He has extensive experience in property and subsidence claims and was previously in the general construction industry, working for major national contractors.

Geoff Ball, director of project managed services, said: "We recently integrated the valuation services team into our surveying services national network, to provide wider professional support. Bill is particularly well placed to take this business into the next phase of its development. This service is in huge demand by brokers and we are committed to providing a first-class product to ensure its continued growth."

Meanwhile, Smith, who holds a law degree, has worked in the insurance industry for 22 years, in managerial claims positions with AA, Crowe, Willis and Eversheds.

Mark Henderson, director of claims management services, said: "Andy's knowledge of the industry and recovery operations, as well as the relationships he has built up in the market, are a real asset to the business. His expertise will help us to develop and grow our recovery product across all markets and classes of business."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
