Spending too much time bidding on e-bay for Elvis's last sandwich? Well brokers watch out - you have been caught.

According to IT security specialist Cyber Protect, cyber skiving is costing businesses thousands of pounds a year and insurance brokers are among the worst culprits.

On average, brokers spend up to 4.5 hours a week on non-business internet surfing.

The survey, which questioned 1,000 UK employees, found 62% of workers admitted going online at least once during the working day for personal reasons.

And almost a third of those questioned said they surfed the net with no specific objective in mind.

The top offenders are ad agency designers who surf for five hours.

But Backchat was pleasantly surprised (and relieved) that journalists were ninth in the top ten, with only 2.5 hours.

Backchat celebrated this vindication by looking for a weekend away on lastminute.com...
