Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, promotions and leadership changes from 14 to 18 July 2025
The standout move this week saw former Lloyd’s of London chief executive John Neal reverse his decision to join Aon, instead taking up the role of president at AIG to lead its global general insurance business.
Neal is set to join AIG in December 2025. He will oversee North America commercial insurance, international commercial insurance and global personal insurance, reporting directly to AIG chairman and chief executive Peter Zaffino.

Aon responded to Neal’s change of plans by naming a new global leadership team for reinsurance.
Alfonso Valera was appointed chief executive of international for reinsurance, with Steve Hofmann becoming chief executive of Americas. George Attard was named global head of strategy, while Tomas Novotny became chairman of international.

Meanwhile, Aviva appointed Roberts Proskovics as head of risk management for renewable energy, as it expanded its offshore renewables proposition to £150m.
Proskovics joined from the offshore wind sector, bringing knowledge in both fixed and floating platforms.

And Tesco Insurance and Money Services (IMS) named Craig Bundell as chief executive, following the operational split from Tesco Bank after its acquisition by Barclays.
Bundell previously served as chief banking officer at Tesco Bank and will now lead the merged IMS division.

Finally, Flood Re announced a raft of executive appointments to reinforce its leadership team.
Latinka Pilipovic joined as chief financial officer from Guardian Financial Services, Dan Byrne was promoted to chief commercial officer and Max Bero was named chief operating officer.
