Insurance Times rounds up the biggest moves and promotions from 16 to 20 June 2025
Starting off the week, ERS promoted Annie Ward to head of bespoke personal lines and agriculture.
Ward, who has worked at ERS since 2014, previously served as product manager for bespoke personal lines.
Then, Hiscox appointed Harriet Hanna as the new chief operating officer at Hiscox Syndicates (HSL).
Taking up the role in September, Hanna will be based in London and report to Hiscox London market chief executive Kate Markham.
Following this, cyber insurer Cowbell appointed Kirsten Maley to the newly created role of UK claims director.
The new hire will lead a growing team of cyber claims professionals dedicated to helping UK SMEs and mid-market organisations respond to cyber incidents.
After that, Arch Insurance UK’s regional division appointed Mark McGrady as its new liability underwriting manager.
In his new position, McGrady is responsible for leading the underwriting activities across the product-led liability portfolio for the UK regional business.
This week also saw Pen Underwriting appoint Jamie Lawson as its new head of digital eTrade.
In his new role, Lawson will manage and co-ordinate digital growth initiatives across the MGA.
And H&H Insurance Brokers appointed Tom Lawlor as its new broker manager.
In his new role, Lawlor will focus on building upon the firm’s existing relationships and develop new partnerships with insurers.
Finally, Allianz confirmed that it is set to cut 650 roles from its UK general insurance arm by the end of 2025.
The job cuts, subject to consultation, will span Allianz UK’s personal lines, commercial, specialty and central functions, a spokesperson confirmed to Insurance Times.
