From industry debates to the House of Commons, it's been a week of tackling hot topics

Wednesday

I’m out for much of the day chairing Insurance Times’s latest Claims Clinic lunch, where the highlight is a heated debate between senior industry figures about insurance fraud.

Thursday

Across to Canary Wharf and the Financial Ombudsman Service to interview chief executive Natalie Ceeney – not a woman to be messed with!

Friday

The highlight on insurancetimes.co.uk is our analysis of Gallagher’s swoop on Towergate and its adoption of London market-style poaching in the regional market (see left).

Monday

After an early morning meeting to get the lowdown from Biba on work in hand, it’s back to the office, where the big news is the jump in NIG’s losses.

Tuesday

I round off the week with a trip to the House of Commons to watch the FSA being grilled over problems bedevilling the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
