IT systems specialist Drax has developed an emergency communications software system called Angel.

The system will provide information direct to a PC in the case of an emergency, said Drax. It said the typical reaction to a fire alarm was confusion, meaning people needed more information and guidance on what to do in an emergency.

Drax said Angel was capable of delivering information from fire detection systems, bomb alerts, CCTV, access control and building management systems straight to a PC desktop. It gives information on when and where the incident occurred and what action should be taken.

Drax said those with specific responsibilities, such as a designated first aider, would receive specific information relating to their role.

It said the Angel system would allow quicker identification of emergencies and more effective action to be taken.
