Law firm DWF has launched a counter fraud team in Scotland to tackle the rise in personal injury claims.

Scotland has witnessed a 16.6% increase in such claims over the past four years, compared to a 4.5% decrease in England over the same period.

The Scotland team will be led by Jill Sinclair who has been appointed head of counter fraud.

Sinclair has worked in the industry for over 10 years and has experience in civil litigation, specialising in high-value personal injury and motor insurance claims.

She will also work within DWF’s national counter fraud team led by Lorraine Carolan.

Carolan said: “The counter fraud team in Scotland enables us to expand our fraud capability and strengthen relationships with clients.”

Sinclair added: “I’m looking forward to leading the counter fraud team north of the border, and further building our capability to protect clients at risk of fraudulent activity.”
