Tom Donachie

Lloyd’s motor insurer ERS has promoted Tom Donachie to head of bespoke business.

He will take up his new role on 20 July.

Donachie is currently motor fleet portfolio underwriting manager. He joined ERS 18 months ago after eight years at NIG, where he was most recently head office motor underwriter.

In his new role Donachie will lead a team of 12 people and report to ERS active underwriter Mark Bacon.

The bespoke unit includes non-standard motor and specialist and classic vehicle business.

Bacon described the unit as being “at the heart of our strategy and is a key area of business growth”.

He added: “As part of our transformation programme, we have built an extremely strong team within Bespoke. I am confident that Tom is the right choice to lead and work with that team to establish ERS as a leading player in this space.”

Donachie added: “It is fantastic to work in an environment that nurtures talent and offer meaningful career progression, and I look forward to getting started in my new role.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
