Esure boss Peter Wood's challenge last week for a reader to tell him how long it took Direct Line to reach more than 300,000 policies has been met by Nigel Munns of BW Deloitte.
Sorry to all the other correct entries, but Munns' entry was the first out of the hat.
The diligent Munns trawled through the Financial Services Authority (FSA) returns to find Direct Line hit the 300,000 units some four years and nine months after its launch date.
So the growth achieved by esure does outstrip that of Direct Line.
As promised, a bottle of Moet is winging its way from Wood.
