Eurobase has been awarded the contract to supply its Synergy underwriting system to the European insurance arm of the Hannover Re Group.
Inter Hannover provides non-life personal and commercial lines via a variety of brokers, Lloyd's underwriters and new market entrants. But, previously, its back-office administration had been outsourced.
To support Inter Hannover's drive to expand Hannover Re's European business, it has brought its administration in-house with the Synergy insurance system and an SAP accounting system.
Synergy was chosen over four other vendors for its greater management control over the underwriting process.
Inter Hannover IT manager David Rickard said: "We were very impressed from the outset with Synergy's outwards reinsurance capabilities. The system will simplify our multiple communications with our many programme writers, who're all using different systems and data formats."
Rickard said the business interface layer would reduce Inter Hannover's programming costs by 75%.
