Underwriter launches new D&O package product

Commercial underwriting agency Evolution Underwriting has launched a flexible directors and officers package product, developed in conjunction with AIG UK, to meet growing demand in the recession from small UK businesses.

The product, Directors and Officers Protector, is based on AIG UK’s Private Edge contract.

Directors and Officers Protector is a simple, modular policy providing broad cover for health and safety and corporate manslaughter claims. D&O and entity coverage form the core of the product, with optional extensions for employment practices liability insurance (EPLI), crime and pension trustees cover for private limited companies.

Paul Upton chief executive officer of Evolution Underwriting Ltd said: “With 40,000 employees estimated to lose their jobs each month this year it is not hard to see why claims for unfair, wrongful or constructive dismissal are rapidly increasing. Business managers are naturally anxious about the situation and Directors and Officers Protector has been designed to provide the assurance they need through its ability to provide wide-ranging cover with very few exclusions.

"Like all of Evolutions ever widening suite of products ease of use is the key. In this case brokers can fulfil their clients requirements in a matter of seconds and be secure in the knowledge that they have recommended a market leading product which also provides superb administrative efficiencies.”
