Andrew Gibson has signed a formal agreement securing his return to Highway Insurance as chief executive.
Gibson, who left Highway in 2005 to take up the role of group finance director at Equity Insurance, will return as chief executive no later than 1 June 2007.
In the meantime, Highway's management team will continue to be led by executive chairman Richard Gamble who will become non-executive chairman when Gibson takes up his appointment.
Gibson, whose made a shock departure from Equity in August last year, was Highway's chief executive between 2002 and 2005, and finance director between 1996 and 2002.
