Chris McKee appointed to board of fraud prevention firm

Chris McKee, former technical services director of RBS Insurance, is joining the board of CIFAS – the UK’s fraud prevention service – as an independent director.

McKee, who held a number of senior roles at Direct Line, left his role at RBS in December as the last remaining member of the executive from the time of the merger of Direct Line and Churchill.

During his time at Direct Line, McKee set up the fraud department in the 1990s and Direct Line was the first UK insurer to use the CIFAS database to detect fraudulent proposals and claims.

CIFAS chief executive Peter Hurst, said: “CIFAS is delighted to welcome Chris to the board. He will be a great asset, bringing a wealth of experience of the insurance industry.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
