Investment analyst joins to head up strategy and corporate development

Brit Group has appointed Joy Ferneyhough as its director of strategy and corporate development.

In the newly created role Ferneyhough will work closely with the Brit executive team to develop strategic initiatives and relationships within the market.

Ferneyhough previously worked as head of insurance equity research for Espirito Santo Investment Bank, where she spent 11 years focusing on general insurance and reinsurance. Prior to that she spent four years at UBS Investment Bank as a member of the European insurance equity research team.

Brit Group chief executive Mark Cloutier said: “This is an exciting appointment for Brit. Joy is one of the leading authorities within the industry, known for her deep knowledge, insight and analysis. Joy’s deep understanding of the Lloyd’s market specifically makes her extremely well suited to this important role at Brit. She’s well known across the sector and I’m very pleased she’s joining our team to help develop and drive strategic initiatives and market relationships. Ferneyhough said: “For me this is a great opportunity to bring 15 years of sector research and analysis into play and help drive the strategic agenda within Brit. I’m really looking forward to working closely with Mark and the team in this new role.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
