Fitch Ratings has assigned Brit Insurance an insurer financial strength rating of A. The rating outlook is stable.
Fitch said the rating is based on "the company's very strong balance sheet, its good operating performance, experienced management and underwriting teams and improving business franchise along with an increasingly diversified underwriting portfolio".
It also commented it was encouraged by the company's World Trade Centre loss estimate remaining unchanged since October 2001 at £25m.
