Ben Robertson from Robertson & Co

Car crazy...

I have an absolute passion for cars and have attended numerous track days and motor shows in the UK, Paris, Geneva and Bologna. Wherever possible, I combine this love of cars with my thirst for travel, by driving to various European destinations. I also recently rented a Maserati to drive the Great Ocean Road in Australia – it was awesome!

Adrenalin Junky...

My love of travel and adventure has lured me around the world looking for excitement, including trips to Mexico, Cuba, Barbados, Mauritius and Australia. During a recent excursion to South Africa I was fortunate enough to go cage diving with Great White Sharks, abseil 100m down Table Mountain and go on safari in Kruger Park. Other adrenaline driven activities have included micro-lighting and quad biking and my next ambition is a parachute jump.

Getting Physical...

I find that one of the most effective ways to unwind is through hard physical exercise - I am something of a sports fanatic. One of my more recent interests is rock climbing and I regularly visit indoor walls as well as outdoor climbing in Leeds, North Wales and Sardinia. I am also into running in a big way and have completed several 10K runs and a half marathon. I am currently in training for another half marathon in September.

Tackling fraud...

I am as passionate about my work as my leisure interests and have loved every minute of my career in surveillance and investigations. I co-founded Robertson & Co with my father, Gavin Robertson, in 1998 and worked in the field undertaking surveillance operations for five years before becoming office based and heading up the surveillance department. I am fully immersed in all aspects of developing and growing the company and have a huge commitment to moving things forward whilst upholding our professional reputation as the business expands.

Food critic...

When I am not working or satisfying my adrenaline addiction, I love nothing better than to dine out at a great restaurant. I am particularly partial to Italian food and wine, although I like to try as many new venues as possible – two favourites of mine are Blumenthal’s ‘The Fat Duck’ in Bray and Raymond Blanc’s Oxford eatery ‘Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons’.
