Spate of consolidation is driving brokers to set up on their own - TEn business development director James Sharpe

New broker Insure Scotland has become the latest member to join TEn Insurance network.

Owner Murray MacAra, a former branch manager at Giles’ Glasgow head office, left the broker in 2013. Following a period of gardening leave he set up his new commercial broker in Inverness.

This brings the total number of TEn’s membership to more than 85 and makes it the 8th newest member to join north of the border.

Ten Insurance business development director James Sharp said: “I’m delighted to welcome Murray and his team at Insure Scotland on board. Recent moves among consolidators have brought its inevitable rise of discontented brokers bubbling to the surface and I’m delighted that they find a home with us.

“TEn Insurance is committed to remaining independent and our members value that commitment and that we will always work in their best interests. Our flexible approach and ability to meet the needs of independent brokers of any size is proving to be an extremely attractive proposition to many thinking about going it alone or changing networks.”

Scottish brokers make up almost 10% of TEn’s membership. Other Scottish members include Complete Insurance Solutions, Total Insurance Services, Anison, Trade and Commercial Broking Services and B-Sure.
