Broking group to provide Parkinson’s sufferers with travel, home and motor insurance

Arthur J Gallagher has won a three-year contract to provide travel, home and motor insurance to Parkinson’s disease sufferers through charity Parkinson’s UK.

Under Gallagher’s scheme, called Unique, individuals affected by Parkinson’s can secure either platinum or gold levels of travel insurance cover.

It will also offer a range of options add-ons, such as airport parking, hotels and lounges, as well as car hire excess insurance, with a donation made to the charity for each policy sold.

Medical screening is automatically carried out at the point of quotation, so individuals will know immediately if they can obtain cover.

Gallagher’s account manager for Parkinson’s UK Diane Caplehorn said: “ We have taken on board the difficulties and frustrations that often come with finding insurance, and tailored our Unique offering around this.

“We don’t discriminate based on age, we conduct medical screening at the point of quotation and, as a niche broker, we believe we are able to offer much better coverage than many others.”

Parkinson’s UK trading and merchandise manager Suzanne Little added: “Almost a third of the commission from each policy will be donated to Parkinson’s UK to help find a cure and improve life for everyone living with Parkinson’s. We look forward to a successful working relationship.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
