CSC hires John McKee
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has appointed John McKee as a business development executive responsible for major clients in the banking and insurance sector.

He joined CSC after two-years in the US where he was the president and chief executive of Kedestra, an Internet start-up company in the commercial property business.

He has more than 25 years' experience in the European financial services marketplace having held sales and general management roles at Oracle, Informix, Continuum and Data Logic.

AIG Europe
AIG Europe (UK) has made two senior management appointments within the consumer lines division. Daniel Doherty has been appointed senior vice president, health insurance and Rob Ryan has been appointed vice president, personal lines, UK and Ireland region.

Doherty has relocated from New York where he was vice president, worldwide accident and health marketing and product development. Previously, he was vice president of marketing for Cigna.

Ryan joined AIG in 2001 to head e-business development. He was previously managing director of Orion Personal Insurances and director, personal lines at AXA.

Catlin
Catlin Underwriting Agencies has appointed Paul Jardine as chief executive. Previously he was director of new financial products. He succeeds Paul Swain, who has assumed the new role of deputy chairman.

Nick Sinfield has been appointed to the newly-created post of claims and reinsurance director. Previously, he was senior strategy consultant at Telos Partners. Before that, he was managing director of London law firm Davies Arnold Cooper.

Highway
Highway Insurance has appointed Peter Gallagher as catastrophic injury claims manager. He joins from St Paul, where he was claims manager for a worldwide casualty treaty account.

He has more than 14 years' personal injury claims experience and is the chairman of the legal section of the IUA/ABI Third Bodily Injury Awards Study.

Ascot Underwriting
Ascot Underwriting has appointed Mark Smith as business planning manager. He has worked in the London market for seven years and joins Ascot from XL London Market where he was finance director.

UnumProvident
UnumProvident has appointed Adrian Wilding to the role of financial controller with responsibility for statutory results reporting in the UK and US as well as regulatory reporting.

Before joining UnumProvident, he was head of finance for RiverStone UK, which manages a substantial run-off book for its Canadian parent, Fairfax Financial Holdings.

Allianz Cornhill Engineering
Mark Smith has been appointed to the role of account development manager at Allianz Cornhill Engineering.

He has 15 years' experience as a business developer and takes over the responsibility for growing the business in the South (excluding London).

DAS
Legal expenses insurer DAS has recruited Derek Cottrell to the new position of reinsurance technician. He joins the Bristol-based insurer following similar roles within Royal & SunAlliance and Swiss Re owned PRO Insurance Solutions.

Chubb Europe
Alan Norris has joined Chubb Commercial Insurance, a division of Chubb Insurance Company of Europe (Chubb), as senior contingency underwriter.

He joins Chubb after more than a decade with Adam Brothers Contingency, part of Horace Holman & Company, where he was managing director. Prior to that, he worked at Royal & SunAlliance as a senior underwriter.

Aon Consulting
Aon Consulting has appointed Andrew Binns as managing director of HR services. He will report to Aon Consulting's chairman and chief executive, Ron Amy.

He joins Aon from Netengines, a company involved in the design and management of leading-edge eProcurement solutions into the staffing market, where he was chief executive .

Before this, he held the post of managing director of outsourcing operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa at Compaq.

JL Manson
Manchester-based JL Manson & Partners has appointed Ray Harris as operations manager in its commercial department.

He has more than 16 years' experience in the insurance industry and was previously a business analyst at Aon.

Hannover Life Re (UK)
David Brand has been appointed managing director of Hannover Life Re (UK). He has been a senior member of the management team for more than ten years, most recently as deputy managing director.

Capita
He has more than 17 years' insurance experience.

Moore Stephens
Accountant and consultant Moore Stephens has appointed Lloyd's insurance market expert Tim Walker a consultant to its insurance and business intelligence team.

Walker has extensive experience of international - and particularly Lloyd's - underwriting markets. He was a director of Miller Underwriting Agencies for ten years until starting his own full-time Lloyd's consultancy in 1993, in which capacity he acted as manager to Charles Taylor & Co, manager of The Stop Loss Mutual Insurance Association.

Loss Recovery Group
Loss Recovery Group (LRG) has appointed Stuart Scott and Karen Beattie to its expanding broker business development team.

Scott has been appointed business development manager with responsibility for the growth of LRG's broker business in the Midlands. He joins from Zurich Commercial where he was key account manager based in Birmingham.

Karen Beattie has been appointed business development executive. She joins LRG from AXA Insurance where she was an account manager in the company's Redhill branch.company focus

Thomas Carroll expands
Welsh broker Thomas Carroll has appointed Julie Mackie and Gareth Cotty, reuniting them with former colleague Paul Gardner.Gardner, now sales and marketing director at Thomas Carroll, previously recruited them earlier in their careers to form HSBC Select's commercial insurance operation.

In their new roles at Thomas Carroll, Cotty is appointed as corporate account executive and Mackie as new business team manager.
