Fusion Insurance has appointed Bob Preston as appointed as UK liability manager

He joins from NIG Insurance where he was a head office liability underwriter and prior to that was at Roadrunner as technical underwriting manager.

Geoff Wakefield has been appointed as deputy underwriting manager for London. He joins from AXA Insurance where he was regional account manager.

AIG Europe (UK)
AIG Europe (UK) has appointed Stephen Ball as UK sales and development manager..

Ball has over 25 years experience in the industry. Having held a number of sales and branch management roles for General Accident, he was appointed as senior manager for global and corporate risks. Following the merger with CU, he was appointed head of trading for CGU's global risks division. His most recent role was head of trading (national brokers) for Norwich Union (NU).

Ascot Underwriting
Ascot Underwriting has appointed Mark White as energy underwriter.

He was formerly divisional director, global property and casualty, at Willis where he worked in their upstream energy team.

His career at Lloyd's started in 1988 at HL Price Syndicate 920, where he specialised in offshore upstream energy risks.

CIS
Co-operative Insurance Society (CIS) has reorganised its senior management team.

CIS chief operating officer Finian O'Boyle has appointed Martyn Bennett as general insurance director. The new role has profit accountability for the entire range of motor, household, commercial and includes product marketing as well as back-office administration.

Martin Clarke has been appointed as life & savings director, Chris Hirst stays at the helm of the investment management team and Charles McKeown will continue to lead the CIS Agency sales force and will assume responsibility for Co-operative Bank Financial Advisers (CBFA). The risk and compliance director is Mike Fairbairn and the finance director is David Grattan. Tim Bunch keeps the position of chief & appointed actuary for the Society.

CNA
CNA has appointed Julian Enoizi, who joined the firm in June 2002, as country manager for France.

Enoizi succeeds Jean-Claude Serrano, who is retiring from CNA. Prior to joining CNA, Enoizi worked with AIG Europe where he was vice president and deputy general counsel.

Liberty
Lloyd's managing agent Liberty Syndicates has appointed a three-man specialist reinsurance team from Gerling Global Reinsurance Company. The team joins Syndicate 282, a top performing Lloyd's syndicate for 1999 year of account, the latest reported results for the market.

The team consists of Dieter Winkel, Gaby Weiler and Bernd Burelbach and initially intends to write US$30 million of premium income. Winkel, who will lead the team, joins as reinsurance underwriter for Syndicate 282. Weiler and Burelbach will be deputy reinsurance underwriters for 282.

MCE
Wellingborough-based broker MCE has appointed Andy Bird to spearhead the company's American cars portfolio. Bird will be responsible for developing MCE's relationships with American car dealers and overseeing the company's book of business with the American car club network across the UK.

Bird has eight years' industry experience in the specialist vehicle sector.

Gresham
A new Lloyd's and London Market broking team has been formed following the merger of Millhouse Facilities and Gresham Intermediaries .

The company, now known as Gresham Insurance Brokers , will be run by new managing director, John Collier from their City offices. Collier will be supported by chairman, Richard Wells and fellow directors Andrew Anthony and Kevin Flynn, all of whom have considerable Lloyd's and London Market experience.

Chris Collier will continue as a director and will handle the previous Millhouse agency and schemes operation from the Dartford office. To complete the team, Kevin Hayman FCA, has been appointed financial director.

Haven Knox-Johnston
John Macaulay has been promoted to divisional manager of pleasure craft insurance specialist Haven Knox-Johnston.

Macaulay has worked in the marine insurance sector in a variety of roles since 1979 and joined Haven Knox-Johnston as business development manager in 1996.

Gale & Phillipson
Insurance broker Gale & Phillipson has appointed Neil Parker has as corporate account executive.

He was formerly with the Norwich Union - as area business manager for Yorkshire, and then, following its merger with CGU, as business manager.

Davies Liability
Graham Kelly has been promoted to the position of associate director of Davies Liability. Kelly has been with Davies for ten years.

He has now assumed responsibility for both the Romford and the Birmingham offices.

Davies Lavery
Insurance law firm Davies Lavery has appointed Sarah Cochran to its London office.

Before joining Davies Lavery, Cochran was a partner with Vizards Wyeth. She practices non-personal injury litigation and has more than 12 years' experience in the insurance industry.

Miller Consulting Services has recruited Peter Coton.

Coton's appointment marks the latest stage in the expansion of Miller Consulting Services, formerly known as Dawson Risk Management Services.

Prior to joining Miller, Coton spent 37 years at Sedgwick working on major LNG, energy, refineries, industrial and mining projects, which included almost 20 years based in Australia.

Adorian co- founded Micropal, the global fund performance Analysis Company in 1986, becoming their sales and marketing director in 1987.

In 1992 he became managing director of Micropal and in 1997 negotiated the sale of Micropal to Standard & Poor's.

In 1999 Adorian became managing director of Standard & Poor's Fund Services. He holds directorships in: Statpro Group; Gradient Europe Fund and Gradient International.
