Unumprovident
UnumProvident announces changes to the leadership of its UK and European operations.

Lawrence Churchill is to step down as chairman and managing director to take up the role of chief executive, Zurich Financial Services' UK, Irish and international life businesses.

Susan Ring - previously UnumProvident's operations director - has been appointed to take over his role.

Zurich Financial Services
Zurich Financial Services has appointed Doris Larmann as chief communications officer and Pierre Guigui as head of investor relations.

Larmann joins from Siemens Information and Communication Network where she was vice president for corporate affairs. Guigui joins from Citigroup, where he was a director in the global insurance and investments industry.

Hardy Underwriting
Henry Glasse has joined Hardy Syndicate 382 from Kiln. Glasse has been appointed non-marine deputy with the task of expanding Hardy's current non-marine portfolio.

He has been underwriting for more than 20 years in the Lloyd's Market.

TT Club
TT Club has welcomed Andrew Webster back to its London office to strengthen its loss prevention initiative.

He returns from TT's Dubai operation, where he spent two years managing member servicing issues and loss prevention for TT customers in the Middle East and Indian sub-continent region.

Webster, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, has been with Thomas Miller, managers of the TT Club for a total of seven years.

Before joining TT he worked as a trader and trouble-shooter in the Swiss office of CRC Cargo Recovery Consultants.

Reinsurer

GE ERC
GE Employers Reinsurance (GE ERC) has announced the appointment of Kathryn Baker to general counsel for its global property & casualty business unit.

Her responsibilities include strategizing, policy-setting and shaping the legal framework for Global P&C Re. Baker has held significant leadership positions during her 25-year tenure with ERC. She most recently served as deputy general counsel for ERC.

Brokers

Houlder Insurance Services
Houlder Insurance Services has recruited a specialist construction liability and property team.

David Rider, David Hurrell and Nick Cater, join from Windsor Insurance Brokers, and will be joined by Graham Rodwell early in the New Year.

CBG
Manchester-based Community Broking Group has appointed Terence Clark as group business and compliance manager.

He was previously operations manager for the company and has extensive knowledge and experience of financial services legislation and the FSA requirements.

Technology

Sirius
Sirius Financial Solutions has appointed Stuart Bruce to the newly created role of data transfer manager within the UK systems division.

Bruce joins Sirius after five years' employment with Misys, during which time he progressed from a strategic development role to leading the data transfer team.

Legal

Rosling King
Rosling King has promoted James Walton and Ben Griffin to associates, and Ann Ebberson has become an executive.

Walton joined the firm as a trainee in 1998. Griffin joined the firm's insurance team in 2000. Ebberson is a key member of the property team.

Alexander Samuel & Co
Renu Aggarwal has been appointed as partner at Alexander Samuel & Co. She qualified as a solicitor ten years ago and joined the firm two years ago.

Kennedys
Kennedys has appointed Brian Gegg as partner in the employment team. He joins from Masons.

Elliotts
Elliotts Solicitors has promoted Emerson Wallwork to partner in its litigation department.

He has been with the firm since 1994 as a trainee solicitor and promoted to associate in 2000.

Emerson specialises in defendant motor insurance litigation with particular expertise in fatal and head injury claims arising from road traffic accidents.

Bryan Cave
International law firm Bryan Cave has appointed Amanda Mochrie as an associate in its London office.

She moves from Barlow Lyde and Gilbert and joins Bryan Cave's assault on the insurance/reinsurance sector, both London and internationally.

In June, Steven Blair came across from Buchanan Ingersoll to head up the new practice, representing clients in the UK and US markets.

Mochrie is qualified both at the Bar and as a solicitor and she is a solicitor advocate, handling mediation as well as litigation.

With Blair's dual English and New York legal qualifications the firm, in London, can represent clients in all aspects of US multijurisdictional cases.

Henmans
Irvin Thobourne, the director of Henmans personal injury case management system, has been promoted to associate.

FSA
Steve Thieke has been appointed a non-executive director of the FSA. Thieke previously served on the FSA Board from December 1997 to December 2000.

Compass
Compass Management Consulting has appointed Frank Hickman as head of its financial services practice. He joins from Unisys, where he was vice president in its global financial industries.

Autoglass
Autoglass has promoted Peter Dean to new regional manager for the northern Home Counties. He has worked at Autoglass for more than 20 years in various roles. Most recently, he held the position of operations support manager.
