Countrywide announce the following three appointments. John Teager has been appointed to head up the team responsible for the Equip regulatory support package. He joins from HSBC Select (UK) where he handled GISC compliance.
Steven Sandalls has been appointed account executive responsible for Countryside members in the South East. Previously, he worked for Royal & SunAlliance, Independent Insurance and a commercial broker. Stacey Davis has been appointed as assistant marketing manager.
Sir Duncan Nichol becomes chairman of Primary Insurance Group and non-executive director of Primary Insurance Company.
He is honorary professor at the Manchester Centre for Healthcare Management at Manchester University. He holds a number of non-executive positions in the public and private sectors including BUPA and the Home Office Strategy Board for Correctional Services.
Alan Woof had been appointed as the new underwriting director at Zurich Municipal. He has worked with Zurich Municipal for 24 years and has been a member of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) for the past 12 years.
Phillippe Donnet takes charge at AXA Corporate Solutions, AXA Group's subsidiary for global risks insurance and reinsurance. He is a member of the AXA executive committee and has been with AXA since 1985.
SBJ Group announces that Bill Barratt is handing over his role as chief executive of its subsidiary SBJ Stephenson to Howard Steeples. Steeples is currently managing director of SBJ Stephenson. Barratt will remain chairman of SBJ Stephenson and a director of the SBJ Group until he retires in February 2003.
Americas Insurance Company
Jon Francis has been appointed senior vice president of Americas Insurance Company (AIC) and its subsidiary Americas Surplus Lines Insurance Company (ASLIC). Francis was formerly a director of Omni Whittington Insurance Services based in London.
Callum Beaton has been appointed chief executive officer of Thomas Miller Risk Management (Guernsey). He heads an eight-strong team based in St Peter Port, aiming to expand captive business among multinationals and other large organisations, especially those with good risk management practices.
In a 25-year career in insurance, Beaton has worked with Bland Payne, the Hogg Robinson Group, a non-marine syndicate at Lloyd's and with firms specialising in captives. His most recent appointment was with SINSER (Guernsey).
Road Runner has appointed Jeff Walker as sales and administration manager. He joins from MMA Insurance.
Philip Farrar, Simon Daldry and Russell Johnstone have joined the Aon Public Consulting Sector Group, reporting to group director Peter Bristow. Farrar becomes director, moving from Manchester-based Aon. Daldry joins from Groupama where he was public sector development underwriter. He will be a director, operating out of Aon's Reading office.
Johnstone has been appointed as public sector consultant, focusing on Scotland. He was previously a risk manager at East Lothian Council.
Resolve International announces the addition of Doug Scott (senior risk engineer) to its risk survey capability. He has previously held senior positions at Marsh, Johnson & Higgins and AIU. He will be working alongside Richard Radevsky in the technical services division.
James Rayner has been appointed as national account manager at GAB Robins. He will be based in London and will work closely with the corporate and captive markets. He was previously regional director for London and has more than 11 years' adjusting experience.
Singer & Friedlander
Ian Jerrum has been appointed chief executive officer of Singer & Friedlander Insurance Finance. Previously, he was managing director at TIFCO and has held senior positions at Eagle Star and CNA Insurance.
Sherwood International announces the appointment of Steve Dean as director of sales operations, international region, with immediate effect. He joins Sherwood from Oracle, where he was branch manager for financial services and most recently, sector director for insurance.
Dean has more than 25 years' experience within the technology sector and ten years experience of financial services.
European e-commerce technology company Lost Wax has appointed Mark Wood, currently chief executive of Prudential's UK and European insurance operations, as a non-executive director. Wood joined the board of Prudential as chief executive of Prudential's UK and European insurance operations in June 2001.
He has held a number of senior positions in the insurance industry and prior to joining Prudential he was chief executive of AXA UK and a senior executive vice president of the AXA Group.
HML Marketing has appointed Alan Warner to head its new telemarketing department, which has been formed to help field staff keep brokers up to date.
He was previously with Octavian and before that with Shead Motor Policies.
