Broker

HSBC
Anna Moreno, currently director of communications at HSBC Insurance Brokers, assumes overall responsibility for internal and external communications for all of HSBC Bank's UK insurance businesses.

Miller
Jonathan Morgan has been appointed as associate director of Miller's property team.

The appointment follows the recent appointment of Mark Hutchison to the team.

Morgan joins from Marsh and has over 10 years' insurance experience.

Moorhouse Group
Moorhouse Group has appointed Sian Pryce as lead director, taking on full managing director responsibilities.

She was previously group associate director, and has been with Moorhouse since May 2005 when she was recruited as HR & training manager

Prior to Moorhouse, Pryce worked at Legal & General and HSBC. She was also sales manager (branch retail) for the AA for 20 years

Insurer

DAS
DAS has appointed Brendan Mooney as broker account manager for Northern Ireland.

Mooney will be the first DAS executive with responsibility solely for this region.

He will work predominately with brokers on developing their legal expenses insurance accounts.

Legal

Barlow Lyde & Gilbert
Barlow Lyde & Gilbert has announced that seven of its associates have become partners.

The new partners are: David Abbott, Fergal Cathie, Peter Coles, James Cooper, Richard Keady, James Roberts, and Leigh Williams.

Coles (aerospace) and Keady (commercial litigation) are based in Hong Kong.

The remaining five are London-based, specialising in commercial litigation and insurance.

Other

Crawford & Co
Crawford & Company has appointed Graeme Fitzpatrick as head of general insurance.

He will be responsible for all property and casualty business units (excluding global technical services and specialist liability services).

He is currently UK property operations manager.

Vic Noble has also been appointed national customer service manager for its UK property operations.

Noble will be responsible for championing service excellence across Crawford's customer service centres.

In addition, Noble will take ownership for certain key client relationships and several existing business development projects and client implement-ation programmes.

Acord
Michael Smith, manager of business process reform (claims and standards) at Lloyd's has been transferred to Acord to support Acord's increasing standards activities within the London market.

Smith has been working with Acord standards for the past four years.

Until his secondment, Smith served as chair of the Acord reinsurance and large com-mercial technical steering committee. He has 22 years' experience at Lloyd's.

ComparetheMarket
Suzanne Ranson has joined Budget Group of Companies as senior manager, finance for ComparetheMarket.

Ranson will be accountable for the financial controls and management of the business unit. She will also propose and develop new business models.

Ranson was previously group finance director at the Burall Group.

She joined the company in February.

Premex
Premex has appointed Vince Giles as IT director.

Giles has held overall responsibility for IT in a number of large organis-ations and also for consultancy and product development in a software services organisation.

He most recently worked on consultancy assignments in central and local government, police forces, education and fire and rescue services.

Argent
Argent has recruited James Owen as a liability adjuster,at its Manchester office, to provide additional support in the North West region.

Owen joins Argent from Garwyn where he handled a portfolio of liability claims.

He entered the loss adjusting profession in 2000, following a role as an internal claims advisor and has since acquired a broad range of experience covering employers' liability, public liability, products liability and disease claims.

Talent & Pro
Talent &Pro has appointed Jitin Sharma to provide interim resource facilities within the insurance and banking sectors.

Sharma recently completed a masters course in financial mathematics at Exeter University.

Searchlight Solutions
Searchlight has appointed Alison Drake in the role of relationship and development manager.

Drake has 20 years' insurance experience, primarily in customer relations and managerial roles.

She joins from Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander.
