Marsh

Marsh has appointed Douglas Ure as senior risk consultant in its risk strategies services team.

Ure is based in Marsh’s London office and will provide advice around risk ident-ification, assessment and management to both public and private organisations worldwide. He joins from Primary Group.

Marsh has also announced the appointment of Will Bruce as a managing consultant in its risk consulting practice.

Bruce will focus on delivering risk solutions to the firm’s client base that move beyond basic risk manage-ment techniques and assist them in extracting maximum value and competitive advantage from their risk management strategy.

He joins from Ernst & Young.

Miller

Victoria Barrett has joined Miller Insurance Services as a broker and associate director of its professional risks business unit.

She joins from Integro Insurance Brokers.

Insurer

Markel

Markel International has appointed Gino Bollato as senior medical malpractice underwriter within Markel’s professional liability division.

Bollato joins to expand Markel’s medical malpractice offering into Europe and develop opportunities in new territories, including the Middle East, Latin America and South East Asia.

He has over 18 years’ experience in insurance.

He joins from DCRS.

ABC Insurance

ABC Insurance has appointed Kevin Hawkins as UK commercial packages manager.

Hawkins will be responsible for the development, implem-entation and management of ABC’s commercial package portfolio. He joins ABC from Ace European Group where he was affinity development manager.

He will be based at ABC’s Croydon headquarters.

GHLIS

GHL Insurance Services UK (GHLIS), has announced a number of internal promotions as part of its product rationalisation process.

Jeff Brooks has been appointed head of private car. Brooks joined GHLIS 14 months ago to lead the commercial vehicle team and has over 20 years’ experience specialising in the UK motor insurance market.

In his new role, he will work closely with insurers on the development and implementation of their business strategy in the private motor segment.

David Drury takes over as head of commercial vehicle.

Drury was previously responsible for developing schemes-based business. He will implement the product and pricing strategy for its existing range of policies and will be responsible for identifying new product development opportunities.

Vicky Whitehead has also been promoted to head of product development and electronic data exchange.

Whitehead joined GHLIS over 20 years ago and most recently has been the key liaison point for brokers with regard to their technical requirements.

She will support the general manager of product and pricing.

St Paul Travelers

St Paul Travelers has appointed Trevor Meadowcroft as professional indemnity underwriting manager.

He has over 25 years’ experience and joins from Norwich Union.

Hiscox

Hiscox has appointed Alasdair MacMillan as regional manager for Hiscox in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

He joins from Royal & Sun Alliance, where he was UK risk control leader, responsible for 180 staff advising clients on risk prevention.

MacMillan will be based in Glasgow.

Provident Insurance

Claire Bentley has joined Provident Insurance as marketing communications manager.

She will be responsible for both internal and external communications with special focus on developing and implementing an external marketing strategy.

Bentley joins from Software Solutions Partners (SSP) where she was assistant marketing manager.

Chubb

Chubb Insurance has appointed Fabrice Gottfrois as continental European practice leader for accident and health.

He joins Chubb from AIG where he worked for 27 years, in various European roles, culminating in the role of deputy regional underwriting manager for continental Europe.

Crawford & Company

Crawford & Company UK has appointed Brian Clark to the position of project manager.

He will be responsible for various strategic change management projects across the company’s Europe, Middle East & Africa region.

Clark joins from HBOS.
