Independent broker Goss & Co has acquired Oxford-based broker Hanson Goulding, adding £3m to group turnover.

The acquisition increases Goss & Co's general insurance sales to £45m.

Goss & Co managing director Jerry Wilson said: "This is a strategic decision designed to increase market share in the Thames Valley. Hanson Goulding will continue to trade from Henley as a trading style of Goss & Co, under the leadership of founding partner Ian Goulding.

"Both organisations have built excellent reputations with their clients and suppliers over the past 80 years, and pooled knowledge and resources will strengthen the enlarged group and enable us to maintain and improve the high level of client care currently provided."
