Bradshaw says two bodies have works closely on recent issues

The Institute of Insurance Brokers’ (IIB) chief executive, Barbara Bradshaw, says a merger with Biba is on the cards.

Bradshaw made her comments after it emerged this week that John Greenway MP, the chair of the parliamentary all-party insurance group, has been working on a merger of the two broker groups.

Bradshaw said that the two bodies had been working together much more closely over the past year, referring particularly to the organisations’ co-operation over lobbying on mandatory commission disclosures and the insurance premium tax.

Eric Galbraith, chief executive of Biba, said: “We believe that one strong voice for the sector is the right way forward.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
