Hannover Re has pulled out of the bidding race for Scottish Re, according to reports.
Flagged as one of the front runners to buy up the struggling life reinsurer in September, according to a Reuter's source, the group has decided against pursuing the bid further. Hannover refused to comment on the report.
As reported yesterday, Scor has now taken pole position, with sources expecting the group to make an official bid in the near future.
