Inter Partner Assistance is using new software to improve analysis of the needs of sick or injured holidaymakers when they call the helpline.
The travel assistance company says the technology makes it easier for their medically trained call centre operators to assess callers' conditions. They can then recommend an appropriate hospital or clinic.
“When a customer calls from abroad, they will be put in direct contact with medically qualified staff who will use the specialist software, already proven in the USA, to quickly assess the symptoms and identify the level of medical care required.
“This could be a pharmacy, self-care, a doctor's visit, clinic or hospital treatment,” said spokesman Tim Jury.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
