Broker only motor insurer Highway is to embark on a drive to encourage brokers to use electronic trading.
Highway plans to increase usage of its CV Choice screen driven commercial vehicle product by reducing rates.
From 1 August the 600 brokers who have signed up to CV Choice will benefit from a 2.5% reduction in premiums.
Highway claims this will encourage brokers not signed up to begin trading with them on full cycle EDI.
Chris Hill, Highway's director of underwriting, said: "The adoption of full cycle electronic trading is essential if brokers are to place commercial business profitably and efficiently.
"Highway is keen to encourage those who haven't adopted this technology to switch to EDI and we are prepared to reduce our rates in order to reward like-minded brokers."
