Higos buys Dorset-based broker

Higos Insurance Services has bought Dorset-based broker John Morgan Insurance Consultants.

This takes Higos’s total number of high street branches to 19, with more than 240 members of staff across the South West.

The broker is also moving its Northbourne offices in Bournemouth to a new high street location in Ferndown. Its Calne branch has also been moved to more prominent premises on the high street.

Managing director Ian Gosden said: “This is part of a step change for us. We have plans to grow the business much further in the next five years and this recent acquisition is part of that future.

The changes reflect my philosophy that the high street is alive and thriving for insurance brokers. We are significantly expanding our business and growing our book of gross written premium across both commercial and personal lines.”
