Hiscox hires new UK claims head

Lloyd’s insurer Hiscox has hired Eva Berg-Winters as its new UK claims head.

Berg-Winters replaces Bob Thaker, who left the UK division to become managing director of Hiscox’s DirectAsia business just over a year ago.

Berg-Winters joins the Lloyd’s insurer from strategy consulting firm OC&C, where she was an associate partner.

She has also worked for McKinsey & Company, Deutsche Telekom, and PwC Strategy.

In her new role Berg-Winters will lead Hiscox’s 50-strong UK claims team with a specific focus on further developing the insurer’s claims service.

Hiscox group claims director Jeremy Pinchin said: “Eva is an important hire for us. Claims sit at the very heart of our business, and Eva’s broad business background and focus on digital and innovation will bring a new dynamic to the team.”

Eva added: “Hiscox is a business with an impressive claims reputation and a strong brand that sets it apart. I look forward to building on both in my new role.”
