Defaqto awards Allianz-owned broker cover

Home & Legacy’s new let product, which offers cover through intermediaries for let properties, has achieved the highest possible Defaqto rating of five stars.

The policy, which launched in January, is a residential insurance product for individuals who are letting their main or second home as well as for individuals or businesses that own and let one or more investment properties. Policies can be set up on a standalone basis as there is no requirement to be an existing policyholder with Home & Legacy.

Barry O’Neill, managing director for Home & Legacy, stated: "We are delighted that the policy has received a 5* Defaqto rating.

"Our policy covers more than the usual buildings and contents risks including, as standard, landlord-specific legal expenses cover as well as optional cover extensions for rental ‘cash-flow’ protection. The buildings and contents cover can also be extended to include malicious damage or theft by the tenant, with a further option to cover accidental damage."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
