Swiss Re said its exposure to Hurricane Charley will be less that $200m before tax, based on preliminary estimates.
At this level, the reinsurer said Hurricane Charley would not alter its positive outlook for its 2004 results.
Total insured loss from Hurricane Charley, which hit Florida last week, is expected to be in the range of $5 - $10bn.
