Hyperion-owned underwriting agency DUAL has hired former XL Catlin executive Richard Clapham as UK chief executive and regional chief executive of DUAL Europe.
Clapham will take up his new job on 5 September and report to DUAL International chief executive Talbir Bains. He will be based in London.
Clapham spent more than a decade at XL Catlin predecessor company Catlin. While there he was a member of the group underwriting board, a director of Catlin Underwriting Agency and Catlin Insurance Company UK, and a member of Catlin’s UK executive committee.
Bains said: “Richard is a first-class addition to the team. His extensive experience of running and growing high quality multi-line underwriting operations makes him very well suited to DUAL as we continue on the next phase of our growth story.”
Clapham added: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to help deliver something different in the industry and particularly to be a part of a group whose aim is to build a collegiate business where people are empowered to deliver.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
