New bikes from Halfords
Halfords, the UK's largest supplier of cycles and cycle accessories, has launched its own dedicated insurance replacement scheme. The centre, staffed by a team of industry specialists, will be dealing with the direct replacement of stolen and damaged cycles for a number of the country's leading insurers. Halfords' call centres offers access to a national network of 400 stores, allowing policyholders to choose a cycle from their local store. The company says it currently replaces more than 90% of the claims referred to it under delegated authority.

Lowdown on claims
A website has been launched that gives claims information and assistance to the general public. The site, which can be found at claimsguru.org.uk , has been written by a chartered insurer and is non-profit-making. It provides information about the claims process and gives interesting pointers to think about when buying or renewing cover.
