Marcus Hearn is offering a group personal accident policy for amateur sports teams. It covers all team members playing, practising or training and while travelling to and from arranged events by car, coach or public transport. Coverage includes a capital benefit of £5000 for death, or permanent total loss of sight, or loss of one or two limbs, or permanent total disablement which prevents the person working. For temporary total disablement there is a weekly benefit of £50 per week payable up to 52 weeks, excluding the first 14 days. Discounted rates are available to under 16's team where death benefit is restricted to £2000.

Health plan
Insurer Standard Life Healthcare has launched Health Cash Plan. It offers three levels of cover for single and joint membership. It includes up to £80 towards dental and £100 towards optical costs per year plus routine check-ups, necessary dental treatment, annual sight tests and new prescription contact lenses and spectacles. For hospital stays, up to £7,500 can be received and cash sums are offered to help with recuperation or home convalescence, home help or treatment of psychiatric conditions. For alternative medicine, up to £300 is offered per year.
